We packed up the digital camera and took off up US 2 towards Stevens Pass. When we hit Gold Bar we decided, what the hey, let's go to Wallace Falls State Park. We hiked to the lower falls and back -- 4 miles. Nice day all around.
Hint for those of you out-of-shape hikers like us: You want the longer trail on the old Great Northern right of way, not the shorter trail that follows the creek. Trust me.
