I created my first print ad yesterday, and I did it all wrong. I'm sure the Seattle Times people will rip me a new one on Monday morning, but come on, I've spent the last four years dealing with 72dpi, you can't expect me to know 100 line height (whatever that is) and what the correct dot gain settings should be. I'll post said ad once the Times is done ripping me a new one.

Easter is tomorrow. I'm between a roast pork loin and a chicken for dinner. I'd favor the pork loin just for the "We're Christians and we can eat pig," but pork loin roasts don't do justice to the whole Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Fulfillment of the Law thing. Bacon, on the other hand, is different. There's this passage in Acts where Peter has dream where God is showing him all the "unclean" animals and telling him, "Kill and eat." I see the dream more like God telling Peter, "This is a BLT. The B stands for bacon. All the angels eat bacon. Heck, in 2000 years there will be this guy who'll say that you should eat bacon to lose weight. He better watch his step, heh heh. Oh, back on the subject. You should eat this BLT. The lettuce is crisp, the mayo homemade, the 'maters homegrown. Now shut up about the kosher crap and eat the damn thing before Jesus sees it!"

Whither George Chang? Oh, wait, he's back and in Boston.

What I've been listening to lately: Recurring Dream by Crowded House. What is next on my record shopping list: Little Black Numbers by Kathryn Williams. I don't like buying import CDs, but the songs I've heard from this record are very small in production (without being fragile) and very beautiful and emotional (without being twee or cloying). Williams has a very living room voice, in some ways like Sally Ellyson (of the group Hem), but where Ellyson took her living room voice and empowered it with production, Williams stayed in the living room and kept quiet so as not to disturb the people in the flat next door.
