The end of music

I'm really tired of music.

When I was in college I spent $50-100 a month on CDs. Over the years I built up a collection of over 600 CDs. Then came the MP3, and I ripped those CDs, bought more music from iTunes and other stores, and built up a sizable collection of music files.

But now, I just don't know. It all seems the same to me.

So, I'm going to sell off all of my CDs and blow away all my music files, save the music of one artist I really feel an affinity for, someone whose songs speak to me, whose songs give me comfort in my depressive, post-modern days as I deal with a looming midlife crisis.

Toby Keith.

Yes, it's April 1st.

  1. So, if you have sworn off music forever, can Sarah have your Ipod?

Next time, light the fuse, let it burn some before you toss it into the pond.

    Cheers!

  2. That seems kind of drastic... at least keep the digital copies. Disk space is cheap and even just torrenting your collection back would take months once you sober up. :) They're selling 250GB drives for

Have fun with the mid life crisis. I don't actually think it's a crisis... everyone inevitably stops being an idiot and putting up with the grind and, for some reason they call this a crisis. It's common sense. I think it's funny. I recently quit my job and became a slacker and I couldn't be happier (except that I'm pissed I put up with the bullshit for so long).
