Briefly stopping by
I'm spending most of my energy on the World Cup Blog. Luckily, the Cup will be over in two more weeks, and the games are getting sparser.
I'd been suffering from an inability to write, but the nice thing about the World Cup blog is that I have a topic to write about and I have to write about it every day. I'm discovering that I actually still like writing, but I need assignments.
Meanwhile, I can't decide if I want to keep this blog running or not. I feel like a lot of subjects I'd love to talk about -- work, religion, CSS, baseball, nectarines -- are either not things you want to read about or things I find myself better able to discuss in other forums. And I'm completely burned out on politics. Until someone really cleans house in Washington and tosses everyone out -- Republicans, Democrats, lobbyists, lawyers, and other camp followers -- I don't think I'll be able to get behind this government that would rather spend my tax dollars on useless bridges and useless wars than on, you know, things we actually need.
And at times I'm left wondering if I'm a good writer or not. I feel like I lean on cliche or American pop culture shorthand to get my point across. I have favorite sentences I fall in love with. And I do loves me some em-dash.
So. I don't know what to talk about. I don't know what to say. I don't know if I can really write all that well. Is there anything you want to hear me talk about?
And honestly, I need to hang more with the few friends I have. I want to buy every one of you a beer. Really. Call me. We'll set up a time. I'm free.

World Cup Time
The tournament starts tomorrow.
For those of you interested, I'm blogging the World Cup for the P-I.
So much to write tonight, though. So much to write. Unlike my wife, writing isn't my passion. It really wears me out if I think too hard.
